Ghost-based coupe is working. The model will be the first execution model,
carry the Rolls-Royce badge and against competitors like the Bentley
Continental GT and a number of models in the Aston Martin line-up will be
pinned.
Power for the unnamed coupe is expected of a tuned version
of the 6.2 liter turbocharged V12 in the Ghost sedan. The engine produces 600
horsepower and is backwards-wheel-drive architecture and a coupled ZF 8-speed
automatic transmission. Expect 0-62 mph, which goes really fast with a top
speed of 155 miles per hour.
No word on what Rolls-Royce plans to call the model, but
potential names that are thrown around and Camaruge Corniche. Dawn, Wraith,
cloud, shadow and spirit among them. The Rolls-Royce coupe will debut at the
2013 Geneva Motor Show and will go into production later this summer.
