Volkswagen Beetle GSR limited edition was just at this year's Chicago Auto Show tribute to the 40th sporty version of the classic Volkswagen Beetle unveiled. The original was based as GSR (Yellow Black Renner or "Yellow Black Racer") and was on a 1303S. Of course was immediately recognized by its distinctive color. However, only 3500 pieces produced, and this fact makes them now collector's items.
Well, at the Chicago Auto Show, Volkswagen is a tribute to the 1970 model with the world premiere of the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR Limited Edition. The new version retains the distinctive yellow and black theme, but also one of the award-winning EA888 2.0-liter four-cylinder TSI ® engine that produces 210 hp (155 kW).
As a historical precedent, the new body has a yellow, while the hood, trunk lid, and bumpers are painted in matt black. The look is completed by black trim under the side windows and the black skirts. The new version of Volkswagen but adds black exterior mirror housings, new yellow / black stripes with "GSR" lettering above the side skirts and a large rear spoiler, 19-inch "Tornado" alloy wheels shod with 235/40 tires, black painted calipers.
Also included in the GSR unique interior with black leather-trimmed sport seats and high-grip leather steering wheel with contrasting yellow stitching, R-Line dash pad, a GSR transmission, leather handbrake lever and black floor mats with contrasting yellow stitching. A plaque on the steering wheel should be emphasized with the special edition number (1 to 3500) with the unique character of the vehicle equipped. As already mentioned, the new GSR generates up to 210 hp (155 kW) and 207 lb-ft (280 Nm) of torque. This allows the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 kmh in just 6.6 seconds and a maximum speed of 130 mph electronically limited range. The engine is a six-speed transmission with double clutch DSG ® six-speed automatic is an option to be covered.
