Last month we learned that Polestar and Volvo say hard at
work on a specific theme of the S60, the Swedish sedan an attitude of
"performing set-driver" and a right to the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and
BMW, shows M3 "Yes, I'm in the eye." The speculation was that the S60
Polestar Performance System, apply to the out of the XC90 V8 prevailed, but
more hectic thoughts, bolts a Garret turbo on the T6 is currently in the S60
and thus an increase to 508 horsepower and 424 foot-pounds of torque - the
promotion of the standard figures of 208 hp and 99 Nm. That's good enough for a
named 0-to-62 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of "over 300 km /
h" (more than 186 mph).
Around this engine are the promised 30mm lower and 20mm
wider body, six-piston Brembo on the 380 mm front discs, a reinforced chassis,
improved Haldex all-wheel drive, Ohlins three-way suspension and 19-inch
265-section rubber wheels on all sides. Further optimization is a six-speed
rail by 20 mm front and 40 mm higher and a stainless steel exhaust system.
Weight is reduced by 204 pounds compared to North American-spec S60, and of
course, Alcantara turns in power. There is currently only one built for "a
particular customer." Polestar says more details will soon be unveiled,
and more could follow such sedans, depending on the market.
