2013 BMW M6 Coupe

After a short break, BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible are back and ready to continue its functions as two-door BMW M5 alternatives. The M5 and M6 share most of their support, practically with the latter to supply more than the first style to be less. If you're wondering why the M6 droptop is a coupe and a 2012 are 2013, it is because BMW is a spread of the launch of each version. The Convertible arrives in dealerships in June, and later with a fixed roof car after a few months.

As the last M5, M6 closed its predecessor, the new, high-revving V-10 engine for a direct injection, twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8. The engine is a gem, we had a chance to fully test the M5 and it's no less than 560 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. Like the M5, it will be supported by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission automatically, and power is distributed among BMW’s entire rear torque vectoring active differential M. Although we recently confirmed that the new M5 will be available with a manual transmission in North America, BMW has not yet say whether the drive on the new M6 is offered. This means that the last generation was M6 is a manual available, and the new car is sportier than the already cast as ballistic M5. Thus, we find that there is hope. BMW claims the M6 CoupĂ© reaches about 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and the convertible in 4.3-these figures are probably conservative. For reference, the company expects that the 4.4-second 0-to-60 time for the new M5, in our hands, which made over 60 sedans in just 3.7 ticks.

Compared to a standard 6-Series, the M6 gets a permanently mounted rear frame, an M-specific suspension with Dynamic Damper Control active suspension, tailored and unique hydraulic-assist steering. Like the M5, M Drive system allows the driver tailored to almost any performance indicator of the M6, control thresholds including suspension stiffness, steering effort and feedback, the speed and intensity shifts from the transmission, and numerous traction and stability. Braking is by 15.7-inch front and 15.6-inch rear wheels of cast iron with six-piston calipers squeezed treated. A first for an M-car, it is also available with the M6 carbon-ceramic brake discs as an option. The measurement of an even larger 16.1-inch front and an unchanged 15.6 at the rear, ceramic promise jobs, resist fade better than the standard brakes saves, while more than £ 40 unsprung masses. (We must imagine that this option will soon be extended to the M5, although BMW will not confirm that point.)

Outside the M6 coupe and convertible receive the expected M-specific flared wheel arches, mudguards sources, and increased intake. An unexpected touch brings BMW's signature twin-kidney: The strips are split to fit on the split-spoke wheels, and an M6 badge was added to the left kidney in a nod to the original 1987 M6. Out back, M-spec quad exhaust outlets protruding from under a diffuser. Unlike the M5, M6, the roof of the chamber is made of carbon fiber. The convertible soft top instead of the other uses a folding hard top is available in black, beige, and optional shimmering effect exists, the M6 comes standard with 19-inch wheels and optional 20-inch "anthracite silver." Are. Prices, full of fuel-economy ratings are equipped to be published anywhere before the new M6 models go on sale, but it's safe to assume they will not be cheap, sparsely furnished, fuel or stingy as, say, a Prius. But they are a damn sight will be faster.
